5 Beauty Tips to Look Better on Zoom Meeting/Call
Posted on June 09 2020
Many of us might already have used it before, but due to this COVID-19 pandemic, most of the meeting in person shifted online using video call apps such as Zoom, Skype, and Cisco Webex, etc. Although the shelter-in-place order has been loosen up for some areas, however, for extra caution, we will probably stick with online platforms for a while and avoid in-person interactions as much as possible. Most of us are not a YouTuber, nor an expert of being good looking in cameras because the camera really can make you look the way you do not like! But I don’t want to invest in extra stuff to just look better on video calls. So what can we do? Here are 5 easy beauty tips you can do from the next Zoom meeting to brighten you up even in a zoom meeting/ any video calls!
1. Focus on Good Skincare. Hydrate Your Skin.
Attending a Zoom call or online meeting is so much easier to make it on time, but at the same time, probably you might start preparing for it just before the meeting starts. Whether you are at home or not, taking good care of skin in your daily routine will benefit you anyway because good skin condition leads to better makeup performance/less effort to cover breakouts. Focus on moisturizing skin more and apply a good moisturizer after washing face.
SANA SOY ISOFLAVONE series
Their products are soy-based and include insoflabon, which is a moisture essence in fermented soy liquid. By concentrating the essence even more with their own unique technology, their products are not only gentle to skin, but also fit for every kind of skin and refreshing. Products are available here at Cosme Hunt!
HADALABO GOKUJUN premium series
The secret of their products is the five different kinds of hyaluronic acids: Hyaluronic acid, Super hyaluronic acid, Nanosized hyaluronic acid, Skin adsorption typed hyaluronic acid, and 3D hyaluronic acid. These hyaluronic acids create a dense texture which deeply moisturizes skins. Products are available here at Cosme Hunt!
2. Don't Need Full Coverage makeup, Just Tone the Skin Up
Since the camera on your computer or phone already blurs skin, making it less obvious for pores and small breakouts, there is no need to wear a full covered makeup for the video call meeting! Lighter layers of makeup would be less damage for skin, leading less breakouts than wearing thicker makeup.
Try tinted moisturizer or BB cream!
What are the differences between foundation, tinted moisturizer, and BB cream?Tinted moisturizers are moisturizers with a tint and offer hydration with a little coverage. They are the least coverage and the lightest option for the base makeup. BB cream’s “BB” usually stand for beauty balm or blemish balm and it is a makeup that has beauty benefits such as SPF or hydoration. The difference from tinted moisturizers would be the coverage which BB cream has more and other benefits besides moisturizing. And foundations are makeup which provide more coverage than tinted moisturizers and BB cream but skin care benefits.
Now you know the difference of tinted moisturizers and BB cream from foundation, and they have less coverage but have more skincare benefits which are best for the light makeup for the online meetings!
Provides skincare benefits of moisturizing, brightening up skin, and UV protection. It is formulated with high water-retaining capacity, which keeps skin hydrated for hours. SPF 37 and best suited for daily usage. Both colors of #01 #02 are available here at Cosme Hunt!
Contouring and blush
Webcam often shows faces too one-dimensional and colorless unlike the nice camera quality on iPhone or Android. So by contouring with bronzer and highlighter, it can give your face more alive through video. Also applying blush on cheekbones would also help you look more cheerful and can give other attendees an impression of positive energy.
3. Point Makeup
There are days where you feel like you don’t really want to wear base makeup like anything more than moisturizer, but you want to look a little better for the video meeting/call that is in 15 minutes. That’s okay! Focus on point makeup, looking as if you are wearing decent makeup!
Fill in eyebrows!
Eyebrows are actually very important for facials and impressions. We don’t notice it often, but eyebrows move as we move facials and it really makes a difference on the face. Just fill up your eyebrows with any kinds of eyebrow makeup that you like: pencil, powder, eyebrow mascara, etc.
Curl lashes and put mascaras
Unless it is a very bright color, eyeshadows don’t usually show up very clearly on a webcam, but eyelashes do make differences on your eye look. By curling up your lashes and applying a layer or two of mascara, it really makes your eyes open up. If you don’t want other people to look sleepy, this might be the good one you can try from the next time!
Lips
For finishing up, natural nude color lipsticks would be the best to give lips aliveness and moisture. Just giving moisture to your lips with chapstick will make a difference for your impression.
4. Raise the Camera to Your Eye Level
The level of the camera is very important and it usually tends to be at a lower angle because the table is lower than your face. No one takes a selfie with a lower angled camera, right? Taking pictures from a lower angle can make your face puffy sometimes, and does not show your clear face line. Just put a set of books under your laptop or the camera and make sure the camera is at the same level as your eye-level. But don’t raise it too high! You don’t want to look down on everybody....!
5. Have a Good Lighting
Having good lighting is critical for your impression. If it is daytime, the natural light from your window would be better than light because it is more natural lighting. Also, be sure to lighten up your face. If you face back from the lighting/ natural light from the window, that makes you very dark and cannot really be seen from cameras.
