The Best Shampoo for Sensitive Skin: Reset Gel

Posted on January 19 2020

Do you struggle with sensitive skin? Perhaps you have certain allergies, or is troubled with rashes and eczema. Some people might not think about changing their hair products when it comes to skin, but what shampoo you use might really affect your skin condition.

I discovered this amazing product called “Reset Gel” which is scheduled to be released soon. I got details on this product one step in advance! Let’s take a closer look into this.

What is it?

So, what is a Reset Gel? Reset gel is a shampoo that uses all naturally derived ingredients, which means it’s very gentle for the skin. Did you know that recently there are people who prefer not to use shampoo when washing their hair? It is said that by just using warm water to wash your hair, it prevents hair loss, and dryness of the hair and the skin. Reset Gel is recommended to those who have eczema, or allergies, as well as those who have dry scalp, oily scalp, or sensitive skin. It can also be used for babies, who tend to have sensitive skin. Since all the ingredients are 100% natural, there is no worry for harsh chemicals to irritate the skin. It is surfactant-free, emulsifier- free, preservative-free, silicone-free, artificial perfume-free, and ethanol-free!

How does it work?

To explain how it works, this might get a little bit technical, but bare with me. Basically, there are only 3 ingredients in this shampoo other than water. The 3 ingredients are Propanediol, which is responsible for moisturizing, limiting the growth of bacteria and giving it texture, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose Stearoxy Ether, which is used to thicken the product,  and sodium bicarbonate which acts as the catalyst. When the electronized water is mixed with oil and sebum, it reacts to make a soapy texture, which removes dirt and residue. To simplify this, the product is able to “reset” your hair condition back to the natural condition, while moisturizing and getting rid of all impurities. This resetting process makes it easier for the hair to absorb the conditioner or treatment that you use after shampooing to the full potential. Additionally, the scalp will feel fresher because there is no residue that stays in the hair. A lot of people tend to either overwash their hair, or not wash their hair enough, which leads to dry or oily scalp.

How To Use Rest Gel

  1. Pre-wash your hair with water, for around 2 minutes. ( If you do not pre-wash properly, it might get greasy)
  2. Gently apply Rest Gel, little by little onto each section of your head and scalp.
  3. Take the Rest Gel onto your palm, and apply it to your hair. ( approximately 1 pump for short hair, 1.5 pumps for medium length, and 2 pumps for longer hair) If you feel like it’s not enough, just apply more.
  4. Leave it for around 2 minutes.
  5. Rinse it out thoroughly, and you’re done! (You can apply your favorite treatment)

Before and After

Here is a picture of how by using Rest Gel, the baby’s skin irritation went away. As you can see, in the first picture, the baby has skin irritation on their cheeks. A month after, the redness has faded and the skin looks smoother. In the span of 5 months, the skin cleared up and stayed that way. Amazing how changing your shampoo can cause such a drastic change, right? Instead of changing the shampoo, I think most people tend to think that the issue is in the facial products they use. This is totally understandable, especially because when you see rashes on your face, you first suspect products you use on your face, not your hair. It is important to note that this product is not to “get rid” of the irritation, but more so to stop further damage, and build back the natural state of skin and hair.

Other Benefits and Uses

Amazingly, this Rest Gel has a lot of other benefits and uses too. After a long day, you can use this Rest Gel on your face. Without wetting your face, apply this product on your face like you would apply a cleanser. Gently massage and rub your face to remove the makeup and any dirt that accumulated throughout the day. Rinse it off once your face is clear. You can also use it to wash your face, instead of the common face cleanser. Just wet your face, and apply Rest Gel gently. If you have any blackheads or dark spots on your face, just gently rub the gel onto the place in circular motions. Rinse it off, and you’re done. Isn’t it so convenient that this Rest Gel can do all of these while being so gentle and good for your skin?

What did you think? If you’ve experienced irritation, or are just curious how this product can improve your skin and hair condition, why don’t you give it a try? Unfortunately, Rest Gel is not on sale yet, but it is scheduled to be on sale in January. Also, you might have noticed that the packaging is a bit different from the usual bottled shampoo that you are used to seeing at drug stores. This is because the company’s targeted audience for this product is beauty salons. Since it is still a relatively new concept and idea, it is not really known by everyone. I hope this product reaches to those who suffer skin irritation/eczema so that more people can enjoy their beautiful skin and hair!
